Virtue: Beneficial quality or power of a thing...
This topic stepped forth on Valentines Day as I was seeing all the beautiful love messages that were being shared externally.
I started to think about how powerful it would be if those messages, were also turned around and showered over you.
The passage from Luke 6:31 (And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise) “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
Came to me as a realisation that, the love we share with others, is a call from within us for the love we want to also experience.
Of course the love you are sharing with those you adore, is for them, who they are, and what they mean to you.
It is also an expression of you and the love you are craving…
Something I have witnessed working with highly sensitive women is…
They struggle when what they share, and do for others is not reciprocated.
Whilst that isn’t the core reason they do it, they feel hurt and don’t understand why others, don’t provide the same amount of care, and love for them especially in difficult times.
Have you experienced this in your life?

The love you share with others is so profound, and has such a deep effect on them, even if you don’t realise its extent.
Imagine how differently you would start to feel, and the experiences you could have, if you shared that profound love with yourself as well…
Right now you can’t even fathom how different, you can feel by changing from criticism to self-love.
A question I have for you:
How is criticizing yourself helping you?
Not at all I would say…
So, there is no harm in giving self-love a go for a while is there?
I have a fun exercise for you, that is going to get you started in sharing more love with yourself.
Self-Love Exercise
What you will need:
- Shoe box or gift box
- A4 piece cardboard in favourite colour
- Scissors
- Coloured texters
- Journal or notebook
- Sacred time to yourself

Set your timer on your device for 10 minutes:
- Close your eyes
- Take three deep breaths
- Take out your journal
- Write out the different ways, activities, words you could use to show yourself love till your timer ends.
- Cut up your A4 piece cardboard into small cards
- Write on each card one of the activities, words and ways to show yourself love
- Place them into your shoe box or gift box (decorate it if you like)
- Then each day I want you to take out a card and do the activity or recite the word/s.
This self-love activity is going to get you into a habit of showing yourself love each and every day.
The more you do it the easier it becomes, and the more you will do it.
You will start to notice differences in your life, when you shift from criticism to self-love.
I would love to hear what you come up with, comment below.
